UZBEKISLAND, MIDDLE EARTH

A journey through the most culturally diverse place in Central Asia, Uzbekistan, which has always been a land of many.  Different cultures have inhabited these places in the past and thus it makes the country one of the richest and most fascinating places in Central Asia. Modernization and poverty coexistence at its best. An heavy Soviet influence does not stop the Uzbek people from looking in the direction of the United States. The Americans landed in Uzbekistan soon after the collapse of the Soviet Union and strengthened their presence in the country during the Afghan war, using Uzbekistan as a strategic point to enter in Afghanistan (via Termiz)and their influence is still noticeable today since Uzbekistan is the third country in the world for number of people applying for a green card in order to live in the U.S. What comes out is pretty interesting: A muslim country with Persian History grown up with Russian-Chinese influences and Turkish-speaking people driving Chevrolet and dreaming America.
